StoryTeller discovered this book at the LA Times Festival of Books. The writer David Saltzman, wrote The Jester Has Lost His Jingle, after he was diagnosed with cancer in college. He loved life and believed in enjoying every moment and every person along the way. He chose to be happy. And the Jester came to him as an inspiration. He finished the book in the last year and a half of his life before cancer took him before his 23rd birthday. Today, David’s mom runs The Jester & Pharley Fund. It gives books and plush Jesters to sick and challenged kids, donating to hospitals around the country and doing literacy outreach programs.
